Rotary Club Varanasi North Donates 1,300 Plants to Students at Dalimss Sunbeam School

Varanasi : Rotary Club Varanasi North organised a large-scale plantation drive at Dalimss Sunbeam School, Rohania, distributing 1,300 fruit-bearing saplings among students as part of its efforts to promote environmental awareness and community participation.

During the programme, saplings of several species were also planted across the school campus. Students were encouraged to take responsibility for the saplings they received and nurture them into fully grown trees.

Rotarian Dinesh Garg, District Governor-Elect, attended the event as the chief guest. Addressing the students, he emphasised the importance of environmental conservation and urged every child to plant at least one tree and ensure its long-term care.

He said that the younger generation has an important role to play in protecting the environment and keeping the planet green for the future.

School Principal Gurmeet Kaur spoke about the vital role trees play in sustaining life and maintaining ecological balance. She appreciated Rotary Club Varanasi North for involving students in an initiative that combined environmental education with practical action.

The programme was conducted by club secretary Rotarian Dr Rakesh Jaiswal.

Rotary Club Varanasi North president Rotarian Ashok Sultania was present along with Rotarian Dr Rakesh Mohan, Rotarian Ganesh Agarwal, Rotarian Suresh Khandelwal, Rotarian Rakesh Rastogi, Rotarian Vijay Kesari, Rotarian Shubhashree Jaiswal, Rotarian S.K. Agarwal and other club members.

The plantation drive concluded with students pledging to care for the saplings and contribute towards building a greener and more sustainable future.
