Emotion: the top version gets ventilated front seats, 40.64 cm diamond cut alloy wheels, a multi view camera and multi-sense driving modes.
Kiger price by budget
Under Rs 6 lakh, the Authentic is the only Kiger version. Between Rs 6.5 lakh and Rs 7.1 lakh there are two choices, the Evolution and the Evolution+, separated by Rs 44,000. The Techno at Rs 7,60,000 sits in the middle of the range, and the Emotion is the only version above Rs 8 lakh.
For buyers who care most about features per rupee, the Evolution+ gives the touchscreen plus auto AC and keyless start for Rs 1,22,000 over the Authentic. Moving from the Evolution+ to the Emotion costs a further Rs 1,47,000, mainly for comfort items like ventilated seats and bigger alloy wheels.
Kiger engines and safety
Renault says the Kiger is offered with two petrol engines, rated at 72 PS and 100 PS, the latter a turbo, and three transmission choices. The 100 PS turbo engine gets three drive modes. Renault quotes 205 mm of ground clearance, and its safety list includes six airbags, electronic stability program, traction control, tyre pressure monitoring and hill start assist.
How the Kiger compares with other Renault models
On the same website, Renault lists the Kwid from Rs 4,52,900, the Triber from Rs 5,80,875, the Duster from Rs 10,49,000 and the Duster strong hybrid from Rs 16,99,000. So the Kiger Authentic costs just Rs 125 more than the base Triber. Read our story on the Triber 100 PS turbo for that car's versions.
Renault has also been running festive deals, covered in our report on Renault's October offers. Those discounts can lower the final price below the figures above.
Which Kiger version to buy
Before you book, ask the dealer which engine and gearbox your quoted price includes, because the starting figure is for the base setup of each version. Also ask for an itemised on-road quote that shows insurance, registration and any accessory pack separately from the ex-showroom price.
The Authentic is the budget pick at Rs 5,81,000 if you mainly want a compact SUV body. For most buyers the Evolution+ at Rs 7,03,000 makes more sense, since it adds the touchscreen, auto AC, keyless start and wireless phone connection. The Emotion at Rs 8,50,000 is for buyers who want ventilated seats and the multi view camera. Ask dealers for the price of your chosen engine and gearbox, since those can add to the starting figure.
