NEW DELHI: Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3), the latest camera-equipped AI glasses from Meta and Ray-Ban, are on sale in India from Rs 44,300. Meta confirmed the India price and availability in an announcement dated 1 October 2026, which also named actor Ranveer Singh as the first India brand ambassador for Ray-Ban and Ray-Ban Meta.

It is the India follow-up to the Gen 3 reveal at Meta Connect on 23 September, which we covered at the time without local pricing. The new post fills that gap and also tells Indian buyers what is available now and what is still "coming soon".

What Rs 44,300 gets you

Meta says Gen 3 comes in 27 colour and lens combinations across three styles: Aviator, Wayfarer and Zena, a new cat-eye frame. To mark 90 years of the Ray-Ban Aviator, there is also a limited-edition Aviator in a vintage-inspired colourway. The company did not say whether that edition costs more.

Battery life is rated at up to nine hours, an hour more than Gen 2. The temple tips can be adjusted by a professional for fit. A six-microphone array is meant to cut more than 90 per cent of background noise, so calls and voice commands should hold up on windy or crowded streets. These are Meta's figures, not independent test results.

The camera is a 12-megapixel unit that records 3K Ultra HD video. A new "dynamic photos" mode lets the wearer pick the best frame after the shot. As on earlier generations, an LED lights up when the glasses are capturing, so people nearby know. There is also a customisable action button for instant access to Meta AI.

Where to buy, and what is not here yet

Meta lists the glasses on its own website, on Ray-Ban's India site and at consumer electronics, optical and eyewear retailers. The Ray-Ban India page for the Wayfarer is live, and the full announcement is on the Meta newsroom. Rs 44,300 is described as the starting price, so expect the figure to change with frame and lens choice.

Two other items in the same announcement have not reached India. Ray-Ban Meta Audio, a camera-free pair weighing 43 grams, is listed as coming soon. Meta quotes up to 12 hours of use on a charge, plus another 48 hours from the case. No India price or date has been given.

Muse, Meta's personal AI agent, is also on the way. Meta says it will reach its AI glasses "in the coming months" and can act on what the wearer is looking at, such as a product on a shelf or a flier on a wall. Which Indian languages Muse will support was not stated.

The ambassador angle

Singh fronts a campaign called Frame Your True Self. In the announcement he said Ray-Ban "has always stood for individuality" and that pairing its styles with Meta's technology "makes this partnership feel so natural". Meta calls the tie-up a significant new chapter for the brand in India.

For buyers, the practical questions are fit and use. Smart glasses at this price compete with a good mid-range phone, so trying a pair in a store before ordering is sensible, especially if you need prescription lenses. Ask the retailer which lens options are offered with your chosen frame.
