Tata Memorial Centre has advertised a patient blood-management fellowship and a senior-resident position for its two Varanasi cancer hospitals, with applications closing at 5.30 pm IST on November 6. The notice, dated October 21, covers Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya Cancer Centre. Both appointments are for up to one year.

The blood-transfusion department notice, VAR/ACA/44/2026, offers one fellowship in Patient Blood Management in Oncology and one senior residency in immunohaematology and blood transfusion. Applicants need an MD in immunohaematology and blood transfusion, transfusion medicine, or an equivalent NMC-recognised degree. For each position, consolidated monthly pay and the caution deposit are Rs 1,33,623 apiece.

The maximum age is 45, assessed on November 6. Applicable relaxations are five years for SC/ST candidates, three for OBC candidates and ten for persons with disabilities. Selected appointees need Uttar Pradesh Medical Council registration, where applicable. Applications are online only, with a separate form for each post and a non-refundable fee of Rs 300.

Other resident calls

An anaesthesiology advertisement, VAR/ACA/45/2026, is dated October 21 and closes on November 6 at 5.30 pm IST. It lists five senior-resident or junior-resident positions across the same hospitals. Senior-resident applicants need an MD or DNB in anaesthesiology, or an equivalent NMC-recognised postgraduate degree. The junior-resident qualification is a diploma in anaesthesiology. Appointments run for up to one year, extendable according to the centres’ requirements. The maximum age is 45, with the same category-based relaxations.

The monthly salary table lists Rs 1,33,623 for Senior Resident I, Rs 1,36,269 for Senior Resident II with one year of experience, and Rs 1,40,238 for Senior Resident III with two years. A diploma-holder appointed as Junior Resident III receives Rs 1,17,747. The corresponding caution deposits match those amounts. Candidates awaiting results may apply where applicable, but must produce proof of passing the required degree at the MCQ test or interview. Applications are online only and carry a non-refundable Rs 300 fee. No paper application needs to be sent.

An earlier radiation-oncology notice, VAR/ACA/38/2026, has a nearer deadline: October 31 at 5.30 pm IST. Dated October 5, it is a continuing application window, not a new October 21 announcement. It advertises three senior-resident posts requiring an MD or DNB in radiation oncology, or an equivalent postgraduate degree recognised by the National Medical Commission. The tenure runs until July 31, 2027, with a possible extension depending on requirements.

For that call, age and experience are assessed on October 31. Its application fee is Rs 300, payable online by debit card, credit card or UPI, and is non-refundable, including duplicate payments. Government and government-related employees must upload an employer-issued no-objection certificate and produce the original at selection. Eligibility alone does not guarantee an interview: the centre may shortlist applicants and conduct an MCQ examination first. No hard copy of the application is required.

Completing the online application

TMC’s online application portal links to an instruction manual covering registration through final submission. Registration asks candidates to select the advertisement, post and category. The manual says credentials are emailed after registration and applicants then log in to complete the form. At least one educational entry is required. It also asks for at least two referees, including their full addresses, PIN codes and contact numbers.

Applicants should prepare the specified uploads before completing the form. The manual limits the photograph to 50 KB and the signature to 20 KB. It asks for a recent colour photograph taken within six months. Date-of-birth and registration documents must be PDFs of up to 5 MB each; qualification certificates are combined into one PDF, and experience certificates into another, with the same 5 MB limit for each combined file.

Payment is not the final step. The manual directs applicants back to their account to preview the form and attachments, check the declaration and submit the final application. Details cannot be modified after final submission. Applicants should look for the submission confirmation before downloading their application and fee receipt, where applicable.
