NBEMS adopts NMC PwBD assessment guidelines for postgraduate medical admissions 2026

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences has adopted the National Medical Commission's guidelines on assessment of persons with benchmark disabilities for admission to postgraduate medical courses in 2026. NBEMS posted the bilingual notice on 29 September 2026 for its accredited institutions and for aspiring trainees.

The Board points to the NMC guidelines notified on 16 September 2026. Those guidelines set how functional competency is assessed for MD, MS and DNB pathways when a candidate has a benchmark disability. NBEMS says it has taken the same framework on board.
