VARANASI: Organisers have announced a Nai Peedhi Samvad and public meeting at Shastri Ghat on September 20, placing employment, education and social rights on the proposed agenda. Preparations were discussed at a meeting in Rajatalab on Sunday, September 13.

The Rozgar Samajik Adhikar Abhiyan met at Sampoorna Lawn after the first phase of a Purvanchal journey that began in Mirzapur. All India Peoples Front founding member Akhilendra Pratap Singh addressed the gathering.

Speakers discussed employment, healthcare, pensions, housing for landless people, women’s concerns around microfinance and girls’ access to higher education. Singh also advanced proposals concerning taxation and public resources. These were positions presented by the campaign, not measures announced by the government.
