Meet Nandini Thukral, the Varanasi Makeover Artist Behind Cricketer Akash Deep’s Wedding Look

Varanasi: Indian fast bowler Akash Deep’s wedding to Akshita Raj has become one of the most talked-about celebrations on social media, and the grand ceremony also had a strong Varanasi connection. The couple tied the knot in a traditional wedding ceremony at Taj Ganges, Varanasi, after pre-wedding festivities in Rohtas, Bihar.
Amid the viral wedding photos and videos, Varanasi-based makeup artist Nandini Thukral, founder of Nandini Thukral Makeovers, has come into the spotlight for creating the wedding looks for groom Akash Deep and bride Akshita. Public social media posts from the wedding credited Nandini Thukral Makeovers for the couple’s makeup, with the venue mentioned as Taj Ganges, Varanasi.
Nandini Thukral, whose studio is based in Chetganj, Varanasi, describes her work as ranging “from studio artistry to destination weddings.” Her profile also mentions training and certification under well-known names from the makeup industry, including Bhaavya Kapur, Parul Garg and Isha Khanna.
Akash Deep and Akshita’s wedding celebrations featured traditional rituals and a Banarasi theme, with symbols associated with Lord Shiva, including Damru, Nandi and Mahadev motifs. Bhojpuri actor-singer Pawan Singh was also among those who attended and blessed the newlyweds.
For Varanasi’s wedding and beauty industry, Nandini’s association with the high-profile ceremony has become a proud local moment. As visuals from the wedding continue to circulate online, the Chetganj-based artist’s work is now being noticed far beyond the city’s bridal circuit.
