1,029 Youth Join Khelo India Samvad at Three Varanasi Campuses Including IIT-BHU

One thousand and twenty-nine youth joined Khelo India Samvad in Varanasi on Thursday, 27 August 2026, across three campuses, including IIT-BHU, on National Sports Day. The turnout, and the third venue, are the day’s results. A two-hall preview had already named Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith and Dhirendra Mahila PG College. Thursday’s count adds IIT-BHU Gymkhana Club and puts a number on each room.
IIT-BHU Gymkhana Club recorded 100. Rajya Sabha MP Darshana Singh was present, with Prof Rajesh Kumar, Dean of Student Affairs at IIT-BHU, and sportspersons Mangal Yadav and Nasir Ali.
Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith recorded 404. Minister of State Hansraj Vishwakarma was present, with Vice-Chancellor Prof Anand K Tyagi, registrar Sunita Pandey, and weightlifter Poonam Yadav.
Dhirendra Mahila PG College recorded 525. Minister of State (Independent Charge) Ravindra Jaiswal was present, with principal Nalini Mishra and hockey player Shalu Sonkar.
The three rooms add to 1,029. Dhirendra Mahila PG College was the largest hall. MGKVP was the middle. IIT-BHU was the new campus on the day’s list. The Prime Minister’s virtual address, already previewed for the Samvad, was screened. Youth took a Drug-free India pledge.
The named sports guests are the local talent on the three stages: Mangal Yadav and Nasir Ali at IIT-BHU, Poonam Yadav at MGKVP, Shalu Sonkar at the women’s college. The named officers are the campus hosts: Dean Rajesh Kumar at IIT-BHU, Vice-Chancellor Tyagi and registrar Pandey at MGKVP, principal Mishra at Dhirendra Mahila PG College. The named public representatives split by venue: Darshana Singh at the Gymkhana Club, Hansraj Vishwakarma at Kashi Vidyapith, Ravindra Jaiswal at the women’s college.
Thursday’s story is not a second preview of the telecast. The preview had two halls and no turnout. The result has three halls and 1,029 youth. IIT-BHU Gymkhana Club is the addition. The 100 there, the 404 at MGKVP and the 525 at Dhirendra Mahila PG College are the hall-by-hall record.
The Drug-free India pledge is the one new common rite named with the results. It ran with the Samvad, not as a separate city programme. The Prime Minister’s address remains the national half of the day; the local half is the three-campus count and the named MPs, ministers, deans, a vice-chancellor, a registrar, a principal, and four sportspersons.
No other campus was added to the 1,029. No other turnout was published. The three institutions, the three headcounts, and the named guests are the event-day file. A hall that was not named is not folded into the total. A guest who was not named is not placed on a stage.
Weightlifter Poonam Yadav at MGKVP and hockey player Shalu Sonkar at Dhirendra Mahila PG College give the two larger rooms a sport-specific guest each. Mangal Yadav and Nasir Ali share that role at the Gymkhana Club, where the headcount was the smallest of the three. The MP at IIT-BHU, the minister of state at MGKVP, and the minister of state with independent charge at the women’s college are the political names as listed, venue by venue, not as a combined dais.
National Sports Day in Varanasi on 27 August closed with 1,029 youth on the Samvad rolls: 100 at IIT-BHU Gymkhana Club, 404 at Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, and 525 at Dhirendra Mahila PG College.
