Police Raze Gangster House in Naharpur Rupa

GURUGRAM: Police on Tuesday demolished an allegedly illegal house linked to jailed gangster Kaushal Chaudhary at Naharpur Rupa and cleared encroachment from government land, officials said.

The structure measured around 150 square yards, according to Sadar police. Heavy machinery brought it down completely and the plot was cleared. Crime Branch Manesar carried out the action with other departments, under heavy police deployment to keep order.

What police said

Police spokesperson Sandeep Turan said the property had been built illegally and was allegedly being used in connection with organised criminal activity. Officers added that Chaudhary had allegedly collected rent from the premises.

Police described Chaudhary as a Naharpur Rupa resident facing more than 72 criminal cases, including 35 registered in Gurugram. The list cited by officers includes murder, attempt to murder and Arms Act offences, among others. A senior officer said a Duty Magistrate had earlier given time and served notices so belongings could be removed before the Tuesday demolition.

Tuesday's drive follows an April action in which police said they demolished a dairy allegedly linked to Chaudhary near his residence after encroachment on Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran land. Officials framed the latest step as part of a wider campaign against land mafias, habitual offenders and illegal constructions allegedly financed or used by criminal networks.

Some local residents allegedly resisted and pleaded with police to stop. Officers said the situation was brought under control and the demolition continued. The allegations against Chaudhary remain subject to court processes. Demolition of a structure does not itself decide criminal guilt in pending cases.

Naharpur Rupa has seen repeated police attention over properties police say are tied to organised crime. Clearing government land after notices is a familiar sequence: magisterial process, notice period, then machinery under police guard. For neighbours, the immediate result is an open plot and a temporary spike in local tension when resistance is reported.

Police linked Chaudhary in briefings to a long case sheet that includes the August 2021 murder of Youth Akali Dal leader Vicky Middukhera in Mohali and the March 2022 killing of kabaddi player Sandeep Nangal Ambian, matters that sit in other jurisdictions and courts. He was extradited from Dubai in 2019 and later booked under UAPA by the National Investigation Agency in 2022, police records cited in the local briefing note. None of that history turns Tuesday's bulldozer run into a conviction; it explains why Sadar and Manesar crime teams treat his alleged properties as priority targets.

Police said the cleared land has been restored to government control. Further steps, if any, will depend on revenue records and any fresh complaints about re-encroachment. Until courts decide the criminal matters, officials said, the civic action stands on the illegality of the construction and the notices already served.
