Four dead in two Gurugram motorcycle crashes

GURUGRAM: Four young men lost their lives in two separate motorcycle crashes within roughly thirty-six hours between Thursday afternoon and early Friday, according to police case records from Sector 14 and Sector 10 stations. In one incident a car driver has been arrested and an FIR registered; in the other, investigators say the bus driver fled after a head-on collision and remains absconding at the reporting stage.

The later of the two crashes was reported around 1 am on Friday, 21 August, near Lal Hospital on the Sector 12–14 stretch of New Railway Road. Police say a Tata Punch car hit a motorcycle. Rohit Kumar, about 26, a resident of Jadra in Rewari who worked as a contractual data-entry employee at the Enforcement Directorate’s Gurugram zonal office, and Abhishek Kumar, about 27, of Rewari Khera in Bhiwani, died in the incident. Police arrested Priyanshu Kumar Gupta of Adarsh Nagar in connection with the case. An FIR has been registered at Sector 14 police station under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 281 and 106(1). At this stage the case rests on the FIR and arrest; guilt is a matter for investigation and the courts, not for newspaper declaration.

Second crash near Sector 90–93 leaves two dead on spot

Earlier, around 3:40 pm on Thursday, 20 August, near Gulmohar Farm House on the Sector 90–93 corridor toward Yaduvanshi School, a private bus and a motorcycle collided head-on, police said. Anirudh and Atul died on the spot. According to investigators, the bus was abandoned at the scene and the driver fled. Sector 10 police station has registered an FIR under BNS sections 106 and 281. The bodies were taken to Civil Hospital in Sector 10. Police describe the bus driver as absconding; that status reflects the complaint and investigation position and is not a concluded finding of guilt.

Complainants recorded in the matters include Harsh Kumar and, where relevant to the family report, father Satendra. Officers are expected to continue tracing the absconding bus driver, examining vehicle documents, and reconstructing how both collisions unfolded on busy city stretches that carry mixed traffic of two-wheelers, cars, and buses.

Road deaths of this kind repeatedly place pressure on enforcement of speed, lane discipline, and night-time visibility on New Railway Road and the southern sectors. Families of the deceased now face post-mortem and legal formalities while police process the FIRs. For the New Railway Road case, the arrest of the car driver marks an early investigative step; for the Sector 90–93 case, locating the bus driver remains the immediate police priority as stated in the absconding report.

Authorities have not released detailed reconstruction sketches or mechanical inspection summaries in the public briefings available for this report.
