Badaun, Uttar Pradesh: Several passengers sustained injuries after a double-decker bus carrying around 100 people overturned on the Ganga Expressway in Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun district late at night, triggering a major rescue operation by emergency services.

According to initial reports, the bus was travelling from Varanasi to Delhi when the accident occurred. The vehicle reportedly lost control while moving along the expressway and overturned, causing panic among passengers onboard. The impact of the crash left several people injured, while many others escaped with minor bruises and shock.

Soon after receiving information about the incident, local police, highway patrol units, and emergency response teams rushed to the accident site. Rescue personnel launched an immediate operation to evacuate trapped passengers from the overturned vehicle. The injured were provided first aid at the scene before being shifted to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.

Officials involved in the rescue effort stated that most of the injured passengers were out of danger and receiving appropriate medical care. Authorities are continuing to monitor their condition while gathering details about the circumstances leading to the accident.

Preliminary findings suggest that factors such as driver fatigue, overspeeding, or a possible mechanical failure may have contributed to the mishap. However, officials emphasized that the exact cause will only be confirmed after a detailed technical and administrative investigation is completed.

The accident temporarily disrupted traffic movement on the Ganga Expressway as rescue teams worked to clear the damaged vehicle and assist stranded passengers. Traffic authorities diverted vehicles and managed congestion in the affected stretch until normal movement was restored.
