Cricket Dispute Turns Violent in Varanasi’s Adampur Area, Couple Allegedly Attacked with Sticks

A minor dispute over children playing cricket outside a house in Varanasi’s Adampur police station area reportedly escalated into a violent clash, leaving a man seriously injured and sparking panic in the locality.

According to the complaint filed by the victim, Manoj Singh, the incident took place around 9:00 AM on May 10, 2026. What began as a verbal argument allegedly turned into a brutal physical confrontation involving sticks and clubs between two groups.

Manoj Singh alleged that his neighbors — identified as Jitendra Chaurasia, Akash Chaurasia, and Surendra Chaurasia — arrived at his residence following the dispute and soon became aggressive. During the altercation, the accused allegedly attacked him and his family members with sticks.

The victim further claimed that Surendra Chaurasia struck him forcefully on the head, causing him to collapse on the spot while bleeding heavily. Family members and locals immediately rushed to help as chaos spread in the area.

Following information about the incident, officials from the Adampur police station reached the spot and initiated legal proceedings. Police have registered a case based on the complaint and launched an investigation into the matter.

Authorities stated that further action will be taken after examining evidence and recording statements from both sides involved in the clash.
