Chhattisgarh Open School Students Sit Science and Commerce Papers

Chhattisgarh State Open School candidates sat two important theory papers on Tuesday: Science for Class 10 and Business Studies for Class 12 commerce students. The examinations formed part of the board's August–September 2026 cycle, which began on August 10 and continues through August 29.
The published timetable placed theory papers in the morning, from 8.30 am to 11.45 am. It also stated that examinations would proceed according to schedule even if a government or local holiday fell on a paper date, subject to any later official revision.
For open-school learners, a predictable timetable is particularly important. Candidates may be working, caring for family members, returning to education after a break or travelling farther than regular-school pupils to reach an examination centre.
The next papers arrive quickly
Class 10 candidates are scheduled to write Marathi on August 19, Social Science on August 20 and Home Science on August 21. Mathematics follows on August 22, English on August 24 and Sanskrit on August 25.
For Class 12, Political Science is listed for August 19, Mathematics for August 20, Economics for August 21 and Biology for August 22. Chemistry, Geography, English and History follow later in the cycle.
Candidates should check the subject code on the admit card rather than rely only on the familiar subject name. They should reach the centre with the permitted materials and enough time for identity checks. Any change must be confirmed through CGSOS or the examination centre, not through an unattributed image in a messaging group.
Practical examinations need separate follow-up
The board directed centres to complete practical examinations before August 29. Students were advised to contact their centre for the practical date, time and venue.
That arrangement can create uncertainty if communication is left informal. Centres should issue a written or clearly displayed practical schedule and record that candidates were informed. A learner should not lose an attempt because a practical date was passed verbally to a group they were not part of.
Students also need clarity about project files, laboratory records and any material they must bring. Open-school candidates may not visit the centre daily, so instructions should be complete at the first contact.
Open schooling requires equal examination care
An open-school credential serves learners who need flexibility, but the examination itself must meet the same standards of security, accessibility and dignity expected elsewhere. Centres need readable question papers, safe seating, drinking water, trained invigilators and reasonable arrangements for approved candidates with disabilities.
If a candidate fell ill or faced a documented emergency, the board's rules on a future examination opportunity should be checked before assuming the year is lost. Officials should give the answer in writing and explain any fresh fee or registration step.
Tuesday's papers are now complete; candidates should resist the urge to conduct a prolonged post-mortem when another subject is due the next morning. A short check of difficult questions may be useful, but sleep, travel planning and preparation for the next paper matter more.
The continuing cycle will test not only student knowledge but also the board's ability to keep a geographically dispersed group informed. A timetable becomes fair only when every candidate can obtain it, understand it and reach the correct centre on time.
