BHU and Varanasi City Transport Launch Direct Electric Bus Service Between BHU Campus and Cantt Railway Station

Varanasi: In a major step towards promoting sustainable and accessible urban mobility, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and Varanasi City Transport Services Limited (VCTSL) have collaborated to introduce a direct electric bus service connecting BHU Campus with Varanasi Cantt Railway Station.
The initiative aims to provide students, faculty members, railway passengers, and city residents with a convenient, affordable, and eco-friendly mode of transportation. The electric bus service will operate on two routes, ensuring better connectivity between key locations in the city.
Under Route E111 (via BLW):
First bus from Cantt to BHU: 7:00 AM
Last bus from Cantt to BHU: 7:15 PM
First bus from BHU to Cantt: 8:30 AM
Last bus from BHU to Cantt: 8:45 PM
Under Route E103 (via Sigra):
First bus from Cantt to BHU: 7:30 AM
Last bus from Cantt to BHU: 7:45 PM
First bus from BHU to Cantt: 9:00 AM
Last bus from BHU to Cantt: 9:15 PM
Officials stated that the service is part of a broader effort to encourage green transportation and reduce dependence on private vehicles. The electric buses are expected to offer a comfortable and environmentally friendly commuting option while improving connectivity between one of the city's largest educational institutions and its busiest railway station.
