Air India Easy Connect Links Varanasi to 17 International Cities

Varanasi, June 26, 2026: Air India Easy Connect has started from Varanasi, giving passengers from Varanasi and Purvanchal a smoother connecting-flight option to 17 international cities through Delhi. The service is being positioned as a major step for travellers who earlier had to manage international check-in and transit formalities after reaching a metro airport.
According to Air India, the first Easy Connect flight from Varanasi was scheduled for June 25, 2026. The airline has said passengers using the service can complete check-in, baggage drop and immigration-related formalities at Varanasi before travelling onward through Delhi to select overseas destinations.
International Connectivity Push for Varanasi
The new service does not mean that Varanasi has direct flights to all 17 international cities. Instead, it works as a hub-and-spoke connecting flight service. Passengers board the Varanasi-Delhi sector and then connect from Delhi to overseas flights within a planned transit window.
Air India's official release lists several destinations under the service, including London Heathrow, Frankfurt, Milan, Rome, Zurich, Manila, Singapore, Phuket, Kuala Lumpur, Riyadh and Dubai. The airline has described the Varanasi launch as the first step in a wider Easy Connect rollout from several Indian cities.
The development is significant for Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport at Babatpur, which has been seeking stronger connectivity for business travellers, students, tourists, pilgrims and residents of eastern Uttar Pradesh.
How Easy Connect Could Help Purvanchal Travellers
For passengers from Varanasi, Chandauli, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Mirzapur, Bhadohi and other Purvanchal districts, the service may reduce some of the stress usually linked with international travel from Delhi. Through-check-in of baggage and completion of formalities at the origin airport can make the Delhi transit easier, especially for families, elderly passengers and first-time international travellers.
The service also gives travel agents and exporters in the region a clearer international connection to explain to customers and business partners. Varanasi has a strong base in tourism, textiles, education and small business, and improved aviation links are often seen as important for regional economic growth.
Important Details Passengers Should Verify
Travellers should still verify their exact ticket conditions before booking. Transit time, baggage rules, immigration process, destination eligibility and the airport procedure may vary depending on the final destination and ticket combination.
Passengers should also check whether the entire journey is booked on a single Air India itinerary and whether the destination city is included in the Easy Connect list for their travel date. Any claim of direct international flights from Varanasi should be treated carefully unless confirmed by the airline or airport authorities.
Why It Matters for Varanasi Airport
Varanasi's airport has seen growing demand from domestic and international travellers. Dalimss News has earlier reported on discussions around future international connectivity from Varanasi, and the Easy Connect service adds a more immediate travel option through Delhi.
For now, the key takeaway is that international access from Varanasi has become more organised, even though the flights remain connecting services. If managed well, the new system could make Varanasi a more convenient starting point for global travel from Purvanchal.
