Adampur Police Arrest AAP Spokesperson Mukesh Singh Over Konia Video

Adampur police arrested Aam Aadmi Party state spokesperson Mukesh Singh on Thursday afternoon, 27 August 2026, ACP Kotwali Vijay Pratap Singh said, in the case opened after Primary School Konia head teacher Kamlesh Dutt Pandey complained about a social-media video. The arrest is the news. The video is a day-old background.
The complainant is the head teacher of Primary School Konia. Adampur police station holds the FIR. ACP Singh is on record for Thursday’s arrest.
The video, treated here only as background, had claimed the school was shut to deny poor children education. The head teacher told police that is not how the school runs. A roof section fell on 3 July 2023. On a then-Basic Shiksha Adhikari order, classes shifted on 19 July 2023 to Konia Satti Primary School. The school was not closed, the head teacher said. Fifty-two children remain enrolled.
Staff on the head teacher’s account are one head teacher, two assistant teachers and one shiksha mitra. The old building is in civil court, with a stay, so there has been no reconstruction.
AAP’s School Theek Karo campaign is the political wrapping around the video. That campaign is context. It is not a charge against anyone other than the man Adampur police took into custody on Thursday.
Police did not, in Thursday’s arrest briefing, give a court date or a judicial-custody term.
Adampur sits on the Konia panchayat-bhavan belt. The head teacher’s complaint after a video posted on X is what put Mukesh Singh on the station’s book. Thursday afternoon is when ACP Singh’s line confirmed the arrest. Being named in an FIR a day earlier is not the same fact as being taken into custody.
The head teacher’s sequence is specific: roof fall on 3 July 2023, shift on 19 July 2023 on a then-BSA order, classes at Konia Satti Primary School, 52 children enrolled, four teaching staff as listed, old building under stay. That is the school-side account to police. It is the answer the station has on whether the school was shut. The video’s claim of a shutdown to deny poor children education is the allegation the head teacher disputed.
Filming a government school is not Thursday’s story. Thursday’s story is that Adampur police arrested the spokesperson named in the head teacher’s complaint. Mukesh Singh had not, in the arrest briefing, been quoted with a reply. The gap is noted. It is not filled with a guessed denial.
Fifty-two enrolled children and a staff of four, on the head teacher’s account, are the operating numbers behind the head teacher’s statement that the school was not closed. The stay on the old building explains why reconstruction has not started. Neither figure is a court finding on the video. They are the school’s statement to Adampur police.
Adampur police, ACP Vijay Pratap Singh said, arrested AAP state spokesperson Mukesh Singh on Thursday afternoon on the Konia school-video complaint of head teacher Kamlesh Dutt Pandey, who told police the school was not closed and 52 children remain enrolled at the shifted Konia Satti site.
