Youth Leader Shubham Seth Stages Hunger Strike For Goldsmith Community Demands In Varanasi

VARANASI: Accusing the administration of long-standing negligence, youth leader Shubham Seth 'Golu' staged a one-day hunger strike (Ann-Jal Tyag) at Shastri Ghat on Tuesday to demand recognition for the Swarnakar (Goldsmith) community.
Two Key Demands: Leading the protest, Seth demanded the installation of a grand statue of Maharaj Narhari Das, the revered saint and deity of the community. Additionally, he called for the construction of a 'Maharaj Narhari Das Smriti Dwar' (Memorial Gate) in the Chowk Nichi Bagh area to honor the community's heritage.
"Neglect Won't Be Tolerated": Speaking to the media, Seth stated that despite running from pillar to post for the last month, the administration has ignored their requests. "The Swarnakar society has a massive contribution to this city's history, yet we have to hit the streets for the respect of our deity," he said. He warned that the agitation would intensify if the demands were not met soon.
