Yogi Govt's Strict Move: DM, SSP to Face Daily Live Monitoring by CMO for Public Complaints

In a major administrative move, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) will now directly monitor public grievance hearings conducted by District Magistrates (DMs) and Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) across Uttar Pradesh.

The decision comes after the Chief Minister expressed dissatisfaction over delays and negligence in resolving complaints at the district level. Several cases reaching the Chief Minister’s public hearing platform were found to be matters that should have been resolved locally, highlighting administrative lapses and causing inconvenience to citizens.

According to an official communication issued by Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister, Sanjay Prasad, all Police Commissioners, District Magistrates, and SSPs have been directed to connect with the CMO daily at 9:45 AM through video conferencing on every working day.

The CMO will conduct live monitoring of district-level public hearings (Jan Sunwai and Janata Darshan). The quality of complaint redressal will also be assessed, and in some cases, complainants may be contacted directly to verify whether their issues were resolved properly. A detailed report will be presented before the Chief Minister.

Officials have been instructed to join the video conference from their designated offices where public hearings are being conducted. Joining through mobile phones or from any other location will not be permitted. Their official designation and district name must be clearly displayed during the session.
