The Varanasi Development Authority (VDA) has intensified its campaign against unauthorized constructions, taking strict action in Zone-4 by sealing several buildings found to be violating approved building norms. The move comes as part of an ongoing drive to enforce urban planning regulations and ensure orderly development across the city.

According to officials, inspections revealed that several structures were constructed in clear violation of sanctioned building maps, including unauthorized floors, illegal extensions, and deviations from approved layouts. Despite repeated notices issued earlier, the violations were not rectified, prompting the authority to take strict enforcement action.

Action Under Building Regulations

VDA officials stated that the sealing drive was conducted in accordance with the Uttar Pradesh Urban Planning and Development Act. Properties found violating approved plans were immediately sealed, and further legal proceedings have been initiated against the concerned owners.

Officials emphasized that unauthorized constructions not only disrupt planned urban development but also pose serious safety risks to residents and surrounding structures.

Public Advisory Issued

The VDA has appealed to citizens and builders to strictly adhere to sanctioned building maps and obtain necessary approvals before undertaking any construction activity. Authorities warned that violations will invite strict legal action, including sealing, penalties, and possible demolition.

Drive to Continue

Officials confirmed that the enforcement drive will continue across other zones of the city in the coming days. Surprise inspections will be carried out to identify illegal constructions and ensure compliance with building regulations.

The VDA reiterated its commitment to planned urban development and urged residents to cooperate in maintaining the city’s safety, order, and infrastructure integrity.
