WBMCC Round 1 MBBS/BDS choice filling closed 27 August 4:00 pm; allotment 31 August

West Bengal’s Round 1 choice list is now a locked file. Online choice filling and choice locking for NEET UG MBBS and BDS under the West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee closed at 4:00 pm on 27 August 2026, server time. The next official date on the revised Round 1 memo is 31 August, after 4:00 pm — publication of the allotment result. That result is not out this morning.

The revised tentative schedule is a Directorate of Medical Education memo dated 20 August 2026 (HFW-23099/320/2026/M), from Swasthya Bhawan, GN-29, Sector-V, Salt Lake, Kolkata-700091. It is signed by the Director of Medical Education and Chairman of WBMCC. The UG Medical & Dental page on wbmcc.nic.in still flagged that PDF as new when this desk opened it on 28 August, and listed the page as last updated 27 August 2026.

WBMCC allots 85% State Quota seats in government medical and dental colleges, plus State Quota, Management Quota and NRI Quota (medical only) seats in private colleges, on NEET-UG 2026 merit lists by UR, EWS, OBC, SC, ST and PwD. This story is that process. It is not a result.

What closed at 4 pm on 27 August

Only candidates on the list of successfully verified candidates could fill choices. That list, and the Round 1 seat matrix, were scheduled for 25 August after 12 noon. The UG page’s latest-news line still reads that the revised seat matrix and revised provisional list for Round 1 have been published. If your name is not on that verified list, the choice screen was never yours.

Choice filling and locking ran from 4:00 pm on 25 August to 4:00 pm on 27 August, server time. The memo does not print a later unlock. Treat a saved-and-locked list as the one the allotment software will read. Coaching-centre WhatsApp edits after 4:00 pm on the 27th are not an official window.

Registration and fee payment had already been extended once. The 20 August revision added a second registration band from 3:00 pm on 20 August to 6:00 pm on 23 August, with fee payment till midnight of 23 August, on top of the original 13–16 August band. Physical verification in designated colleges (not for NRI candidates) sat on 14, 17 and 18 August and on 21 and 24 August, 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Those days are over.

What 31 August is — and what it is not

Item 7 of the revised memo is “Publication of allotment result Round 1 — 31.08.2026 after 4 pm.” Do not travel on 31 August morning as if the college has already named you. Do not treat a blank login before 4:00 pm on the 31st as a failed allotment. Watch wbmcc.nic.in and the candidate login linked from the UG Medical & Dental page.

The same memo puts reporting and admission of allotted candidates on 1, 2, 3 and 5 September 2026, from 10:00 am till 4:00 pm, server time. 4 September is not on that line. For all private medical colleges, the memo says the admission process will run in different government medical colleges in Kolkata, with a related notice to follow on the website. Private dental colleges report at Dr R. Ahmed Dental College. Carry original documents, the college fee and the bond. Candidates are admitted only after physical re-verification.

If you locked choices before 4:00 pm on 27 August, the practical instruction for 28 August is to wait for 31 August after 4:00 pm and keep originals ready for 1–3 and 5 September. If you did not lock, the revised Round 1 memo does not give you another filling day.
