NEW DELHI: The vivo X300 FE costs up to Rs 15,000 more on vivo's India online store than it did at launch in May, and the S2 has also become dearer. The 12GB plus 256GB model that debuted at Rs 79,999 is now listed at Rs 94,999, and the 12GB plus 512GB version that launched at Rs 89,999 is now Rs 99,999. The festive sales open on 8 and 9 October.
Launch price versus the store today
vivo's launch release of 6 May 2026 priced the X300 FE at Rs 79,999 for 12GB plus 256GB and Rs 89,999 for 12GB plus 512GB, with sales from 14 May. The vivo India store page showed these prices on 3 October:
The 8GB plus 256GB model, absent from the launch release, is Rs 89,999. The 12GB plus 256GB model is Rs 94,999, up Rs 15,000. The 12GB plus 512GB model is Rs 99,999, up Rs 10,000. The store prints MRPs of Rs 1,09,999, Rs 1,19,999 and Rs 1,29,999 and shows discount tags of up to 23 per cent. Those percentages are measured against the printed MRP, not the May price, so a "23 per cent off" tag can sit beside a higher price than launch day.
The store also lists a Rs 1,000 student coupon and an exchange offer worth up to Rs 50,000, which depends on your old phone. We could not find a vivo notice explaining the revision.
The S2 moved too
The mid-range S2 followed the same path. vivo's August release priced it at Rs 39,999 for 8GB plus 128GB and Rs 44,999 for 8GB plus 256GB, with sales from 11 August. The store now lists the 8GB plus 128GB model at Rs 42,999, which is Rs 3,000 more than at launch. Its vivo.com page leads with a 7,050mAh battery.
What the X300 FE offers for the money
The hardware is unchanged. The X300 FE has a 6.31-inch compact screen, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip and a 6,500mAh battery with 90W wired and 40W wireless charging. ZEISS-tuned cameras include a 50MP main sensor and a 50MP telephoto lens. It is rated IP68 and IP69, and vivo promises five years of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates.
The launch offers in the May release, such as a Rs 4,000 discount on the extender bundle, were announced for that period, so check that they still apply.
How to buy sensibly this month
First, compare the final checkout price, not the label, after the offers you qualify for, against the Rs 79,999 and Rs 89,999 launch figures.
Second, check the same variant on other sellers during the sales. Amazon's Great Indian Festival opens on 8 October and Flipkart's Big Billion Days on 9 October, as we detailed in our guide to both events. The release lists Flipkart, Amazon and retail partners as sellers, so effective prices can differ by channel.
Third, pick storage on merit. The gap between the 256GB and 512GB 12GB models is now Rs 5,000, half the Rs 10,000 gap at launch, so the larger model looks better value than it did in May.
Until a sale proves otherwise, the X300 FE is the same phone at a higher number, and the S2 follows the same pattern.
