NEW DELHI: The vivo X Fold6 will cost Rs 2,19,999 in India. vivo is selling it in a single configuration, 12GB RAM with 512GB storage, in Nebula Teal and Prism Black, according to its India launch release (price as of 7 October 2026, 1:25 AM IST).

Pre-booking opened on 6 October. Sales begin on 13 October through the vivo India e-store, Flipkart, Amazon and partner retail stores, the same day as the V80.

The single-variant approach matters at this price. There is no cheaper 256GB entry model to tempt buyers in, so the Rs 2,19,999 figure is the only sticker anyone will see in India.

The hardware

The X Fold6 opens to an 8.02-inch main display and has a 6.51-inch cover screen. Both are what vivo calls ZEISS Master Color panels with adaptive refresh rates from 1Hz to 120Hz and up to 5,000 nits of local peak brightness. Inside is the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super Edition, which vivo says it tuned with MediaTek for this foldable.

The battery is 6,900 mAh with 80W wired and 40W wireless charging. vivo calls it the biggest battery in a foldable sold in India, and says it uses fifth-generation silicon anode cells and semi-solid-state battery tech meant to hold up in very cold weather.

Cameras are led by a 200MP ZEISS main sensor with optical stabilisation and a ZEISS APO telephoto camera built on the Sony LYTIA 602 sensor. vivo claims up to 100x HyperZoom and 4K 60fps Dolby Vision video. The fold itself is used in the camera too. A cover-screen teleprompter shows text while you record with the rear cameras, and a split preview shows the last shot beside the live viewfinder.

For water and dust, vivo lists IPX8, IPX9 and IP5X. The phone runs OriginOS 7 out of the box. vivo has not listed weight or thickness in its India release, and we will add them once the product page goes live.

Built for work, at least on paper

Most of vivo's pitch is about productivity. Origin Workbench lets you run one main app with up to four supporting apps around it, and Multi-Split Screen shows up to four resizable windows side by side. AI Cross-App Drag moves text or images between apps, for example lifting text from a photo into a translation app.

Desktop Mode turns the phone into a desktop-style workspace on a compatible PC or TV with keyboard and mouse. AI Recorder transcribes meetings with speaker labels, AI Captions adds live subtitles to calls, and an AI Reader Mode reflows long PDFs into a book-like layout for the big screen. How much of this sticks in daily use is something only a review unit will tell.

Offers and the foldable field

Online, vivo lists an instant cashback of Rs 26,400 with selected banks, or a 10 percent exchange bonus, or no-cost EMI for up to 24 months. In stores the EMI works out to Rs 7,333 a month over 30 months, vivo says. Buyers also get three months of Google AI Pro. Offers are alternatives and depend on each platform's terms.

There is one unusual extra. X Fold6 buyers get priority walk-in access to try vivo's Vision Discovery Edition mixed reality headset at 15 vivo exclusive stores in 10 cities until 5 January 2027, on showing their invoice or the phone.

The X Fold6 walks straight into Samsung's territory. Our reviewer spent a week with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 in Varanasi, and that phone is the obvious benchmark for weight and polish. On specs, vivo is betting on battery and cameras rather than thinness.

On price, the closest Samsung rival is the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. The Samsung India store lists its 12GB plus 512GB model at an MRP of Rs 2,24,999, price as of 7 October 2026, 1:35 AM IST, so the X Fold6 comes in Rs 5,000 below that MRP for the same memory. Samsung's store was also showing an instant saving on top, so compare final checkout prices on the day rather than the sticker. vivo's previous foldable, the X Fold5, is in the first batch for the OriginOS 7 update at the end of October, which matters for anyone tempted by a discounted older model. The sale date and price leave little room for confusion. Anyone planning a foldable purchase this Diwali now has two serious Android choices above Rs 1.8 lakh, and the X Fold6 will be in stores from 13 October.
