NEW DELHI: vivo has priced the V80 at Rs 62,999 in India. That buys the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model. The 8GB plus 256GB version costs Rs 69,999 and the 8GB plus 512GB version Rs 79,999, according to the launch note on the vivo India newsroom (price as of 7 October 2026, 1:25 AM IST).

Pre-booking opened on 6 October, the day of the vivo NEXT event in New Delhi. Open sale starts on 13 October across partner retail stores, the vivo India e-store, Flipkart and Amazon. All three prices include taxes.

We had flagged the launch date and the big headline numbers last month in our piece on vivo confirming the V80 for an October 6 India launch. The open question then was price. It is now answered, and it lands a long way above where many buyers expect a V-series phone to sit.

What Rs 62,999 gets you

The V80 runs the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, a 4nm chip, with a 7,200 mAh battery and 90W charging. vivo calls the battery the largest it has put in a V-series phone. The display is a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate and up to 5,000 nits of local peak brightness, which vivo says is the smoothest screen in the series so far.

The camera pitch is aimed at people who shoot a lot of video for social media. There is a 50MP ZEISS telephoto camera on a Sony IMX882 sensor with optical stabilisation and 3x optical zoom, a 50MP ZEISS group selfie camera with a 92 degree lens and autofocus, and 4K recording at 60 frames per second. A new 4K Cinematic Video mode applies one of three colour looks (Modern Movie, Vibrant and Pastel) while you record, so the clip does not need grading later.

The phone is 0.76 cm thick and weighs 203g, according to vivo. It carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water. It is also the first V-series model to ship with OriginOS 7, vivo's new Android skin, and vivo promises six years of security updates. Colours are Sunrise Anthem, Horizon Blue and Stellar Black. vivo says the phone is made at its Greater Noida plant.

Offers, and what to read carefully

vivo's launch offers include EMI from Rs 2,625 a month on a 24-month zero down payment scheme valid until 18 October, a 10 percent instant cashback on listed bank cards and UPI, or an exchange bonus of up to 10 percent. These are alternatives, not a stack, and the note marks them as subject to each platform's terms.

A JioHotstar discount for V80 buyers is listed too, but vivo's own fine print says that offer is not live yet and has no confirmed start date. Do not count it in your sums until it appears at checkout.

Online buyers are promised a one-year free extended warranty and six months of 100GB Google One storage. Before paying, take a dated screenshot of the final amount in your cart, since festive offers change quickly.

Where the V80 sits in this month's crowd

The V80 arrives in a crowded fortnight. OPPO's F35 Pro 5G, also built around a big battery, is listed at Rs 45,999 for 6GB plus 128GB with sale from 11 October, as we reported in our OPPO F35 Pro and F35 price story. That is Rs 17,000 below the V80's entry price, though the two phones use different chips and camera setups.

Within vivo's own range, the X300 FE and S2 have been selling above their launch prices on the vivo store, which we tracked in our check of vivo store prices against launch prices. It is worth watching whether the V80 holds at Rs 62,999 once the festive window closes.

The real choice for most buyers is the memory tier. The jump from 128GB to 256GB costs Rs 7,000, and to 512GB another Rs 10,000. Anyone who shoots a lot of 4K 60fps video should look hard at the 256GB model, since 4K files fill 128GB fast.

Sales open on 13 October. We will report if vivo changes prices or adds variants before then.
