vivo V80 confirmed for India launch on October 6

NOIDA: vivo has confirmed that the V80 will launch in India on 6 October 2026, pitching the phone at creators who want cinematic video, a telephoto portrait option and a large battery in the V series.

A 24 September 2026 post on vivo's India newsroom says the V80 is the first V-series phone in India to ship with OriginOS 7. Hardware highlights include a 7,200 mAh battery — described as the biggest in the V series — and a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display running at 144Hz, which vivo calls the smoothest panel in the V lineup.

Colours listed for India are Sunrise Anthem, Horizon Blue and Stellar Black. vivo has not published India MRP or storage configurations in the same teaser.

Camera and video features vivo is emphasising

The newsroom note centres on 4K Cinematic Video with three movie-inspired colour styles — Modern Movie, Vibrant and Pastel — plus 4K 60fps capture. A 50 MP ZEISS Night Telephoto camera is said to offer 3x optical zoom with OIS and a large sensor footprint around 1.3 cm, with a 10x Zoom-In Portrait mode for distant subjects.

AI Creative Camera is billed with more than 30 AI styles, and AI Diwali Portrait 2.0 is framed for festive portraits with warmer tones and decorative overlays such as lanterns and rangoli-style elements. Those software looks are marketing claims until the phone is reviewed; vivo has not released sample files in the teaser.

The creative pitch matters for India because the V series has long sold on portrait and video features rather than pure chipset rivalry. OriginOS 7 is new for this line in India, so software demos on 6 October will be as closely watched as the camera hardware.
