Two phones, one price. The vivo S2 FE and the OPPO F35 5G both cost Rs 38,999 for 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, price as of 7 October 2026, 1:45 AM IST. The vivo figure comes from its launch release and the OPPO figure from the OPPO India store listing. Both pitch a giant battery as the main reason to buy. So which one makes more sense for your money?
We went through both companies' official spec pages and launch material. Neither phone is on open sale yet, so this is a paper comparison, not a review. But on paper the differences are clearer than the matching price tags suggest.
Price, memory and sale dates
The OPPO F35 5G opens for sale on 11 October at 12 noon, according to its store page, and pre-orders are live with a "Ships in 5 Days" note. The vivo S2 FE goes on sale later, on 20 October.
Both start at Rs 38,999 for 6GB plus 128GB. vivo also lists an 8GB plus 128GB model at Rs 42,999. OPPO shows other variants on its page, but the 6GB plus 128GB price was the only one clearly visible when we checked, so we are comparing the entry models.
On offers, the OPPO store shows an instant bank discount of up to Rs 3,899. vivo lists up to 10 percent instant cashback on listed cards and UPI, or a 10 percent exchange bonus. Bank offers depend on your card and the day, so plan around the Rs 38,999 sticker and treat any discount as a bonus.
Battery: 10,000 mAh against 8,000 mAh
This is the headline. The S2 FE has a 10,000 mAh battery, and its product page lists a rated capacity of 9,800 mAh. vivo says the cell keeps at least 80 percent of its capacity after 1,400 full cycles in its lab, and quotes up to 68 hours of calls and 30 hours of streaming.
The F35 5G has an 8,000 mAh battery, which OPPO markets as a "6-Year Durable" battery. That is still very large for a phone in this class.
A 2,000 mAh gap is about 25 percent more capacity on the vivo. In practice that could mean an extra evening of use for a heavy user, but real life depends on the chip, the screen and your network. Neither company has put a charging wattage for these two models in the official material we read, so check the box or the retailer listing before buying if fast top-ups matter to you.
Performance and display
The S2 FE runs the MediaTek Dimensity 7300e. The F35 5G uses the MediaTek Dimensity 6360 MAX. On the naming alone, the 7000-series chip sits above the 6000-series one in MediaTek's line-up, so the vivo should have more headroom for games and heavy multitasking. vivo quotes an AnTuTu score of up to 900K for its phone. OPPO does not quote a benchmark for the F35 5G on its page.
Both have 120Hz AMOLED screens. vivo specifies a 6.83-inch 1.5K panel with 2,000 nits in high brightness mode and dual stereo speakers. OPPO describes an "Ultra Bright" 120Hz AMOLED display with a 1.67mm bezel. If screen sharpness matters, the vivo's 1.5K resolution is the one spec we can pin down on paper.
Cameras: selfies against the main camera
The two brands push different cameras. OPPO's big claim on the F35 5G is a 50MP ultra-wide selfie camera for group shots, which it calls "Group Selfie Expert". vivo gives the S2 FE a 50MP Sony main camera on the back and a 32MP wide-angle selfie camera, with AI Erase for cleaning up shots.
So if your phone camera is mostly pointed at yourself and friends, OPPO's selfie hardware is the stronger pitch. If you shoot more with the rear camera, vivo's spec sheet is more specific about its main sensor. Real-world quality is something only side-by-side photos will settle.
Toughness and software
Both claim serious water resistance. OPPO lists IP69K on the F35 5G, plus IP66 and IP68 lab ratings. vivo lists IP68 and IP69 and a military grade drop certification for the S2 FE. Either should survive rain and the odd spill. Neither rating covers sea water or a repair bill after a hard fall.
Software is a bigger difference than it looks. The F35 runs ColorOS 16, and OPPO promises six years of "smoothness protection" for the 6GB plus 128GB model, which is its own performance claim, not a promise of six Android version upgrades. The S2 FE ships with OriginOS 6 on Android 16 and is due for OriginOS 7 at the end of January 2027 on vivo's published rollout chart.
Which one should you buy?
Pick the vivo S2 FE if battery life is your top priority, if you game on your phone, or if you want the sharper 1.5K screen. You will wait until 20 October for it, and three more months for the new software.
Pick the OPPO F35 5G if you take a lot of group selfies, want the phone earlier (11 October), and are happy with a battery that is already well above average.
If you are paying more, OPPO also has the F35 Pro 5G at Rs 45,999, covered in our OPPO F35 series price story.
