Viral in Mirzapur: Road Constructed Without Removing Handpump, Safety Concerns Rise

A surprising case of negligence has surfaced from Mirzapur, where a functional handpump has been left standing in the middle of a newly constructed road.
The incident has been reported near Kantit Inara under the Vindhyachal police station area. According to locals, while constructing the road, the authorities failed to shift the existing handpump and instead built the road around it.
Residents allege that the lapse reflects poor planning and negligence by the Public Works Department (PWD) engineers and the contractor. Some also claim that the handpump was deliberately left in place to cut costs.
The unusual sight of a handpump standing in the middle of the road has raised safety concerns for commuters and sparked criticism on social media. Authorities are yet to respond to the matter.
