VDA Holds Meeting with Ganjari–Madhani Farmers to Promote Land Pooling Scheme, Assures Transparency and Consent

VARANASI In a significant move to accelerate planned development, the Varanasi Development Authority (VDA) Vice Chairman Shri Purna Bora convened a meeting with farmers from the Ganjari and Madhani areas on Friday.
The Objective: The primary aim was to educate farmers about the Land Pooling Scheme and address their concerns. Addressing the gathering, VC Purna Bora termed the scheme as "modern and transparent," ensuring that the farmers' interests are prioritized.
How Farmers Benefit: The VC explained that under this scheme, the authority develops essential infrastructure like roads, sewers, electricity, and parks on the pooled land. A designated portion of this developed land is then returned to the farmers, the market value of which becomes significantly higher than the original agricultural land.
Assurances Given: Officials, including Secretary Dr. Ved Prakash Mishra and Additional Secretary Gudakesh Sharma, clarified doubts regarding compensation and timelines. The VC appealed to farmers not to believe in rumors, assuring them that "consent is paramount" and the scheme will generate employment and business opportunities in the region.
