Varanasi’s 80-MLD Dinapur sewage-treatment plant is the subject of a new operations tender published on 15 October. The UP eProcurement organisation list seeks an agency for running the plant, routine checks, preventive maintenance, cleaning and watch-and-ward duties. Its stated work period is 120 days. The notice concerns management of the existing plant; it does not announce a new treatment plant or an increase in capacity.

Bids for Dinapur close on 12 November, with opening scheduled for 13 November. The public summary does not disclose a tender value. It lists a ₹5,900 tender fee and ₹1,55,400 earnest-money deposit, which are bidding requirements rather than the project’s cost. The tender identifier is 2026_UPJNM_1197014_1, searchable under U P Jal Nigam (HQ), Lucknow on the public organisation list. The submission uses two covers, separating the technical documents from the financial bid; the stated bid-validity period is 120 days.

Equipment and repairs at sewage stations

A separate tender published on 15 October covers a 100-kVA diesel-generator set at H.C. Ghat sewage pumping station, together with power-cable supply and laying and fabrication of a manual screen bar. Its public summary specifies a 45-day work period. Bids close on 30 October and are scheduled to open on 31 October.

That package, 2026_UPJNM_1195789_1, carries a ₹3,540 tender fee and ₹48,900 earnest-money deposit. No tender value appears in the summary. The listed period is a contract-duration field, not a dated promise that the equipment will be installed within 45 days of the notice. The page identifies the Executive Engineer, Construction Division E and M, UP Jal Nigam Urban, Varanasi, as the inviting authority.

Four further packages published on 12 October share notice reference 2059/E-Tender/65. One covers a ball ring and repairs and painting for trickling filter No. 1 at an 80-MLD plant, with a 15-day work period. Another covers repairs to Konia main pumping station’s screw-pump gearboxes Nos. 2 and 3 and spares for gearboxes Nos. 1, 2 and 3, with a 90-day period.

The other two cover major repairs and replacement work at H.C. Ghat pumping station over 365 days, and operation and removal of material blocking manual screens at Dr. R.P. Ghat, Mansarover Ghat and Trilochan Ghat stations over 270 days. All four summaries give 23 October as the bid deadline and 24 October for opening. These are separate procurement packages, not evidence that the repairs have already been completed.

Water-supply funding and a nearer bid deadline

On the drinking-water side, an Urban Development Department order dated 14 October approves ₹1,138.69 lakh for Varanasi Municipal Corporation works and authorizes a first instalment of ₹570 lakh. Its annex assigns ₹568.49 lakh to mini-tubewells, pipelines and associated works at five sites in Ramrepur ward in Varanasi North constituency. Another ₹570.20 lakh covers five sites in wards of Shivpur constituency.

UP Jal Nigam Urban is to implement those works. The order requires technical approval and necessary clearances before construction, bars duplicate funding and diversion of the sanctioned money, and requires utilization records. It does not name the ten individual sites or give a household-coverage figure. The sanction also does not establish that construction has begun or that the first instalment has reached the implementing agency’s bank account. A worksite display board must identify the work, executing agency and expected completion date. Responsibility for construction specifications and quality rests with the implementing agency.

A nearer deadline applies to an earlier Trans Varuna water-supply tender, published on 8 October. It seeks operation and watch-and-ward services for SCADA automation and associated intake-well, treatment-plant and storage infrastructure. The listed infrastructure includes overhead tanks and clear-water storage. Tender 2026_UPJNM_1194163_1 lists a 180-day work period, with bids due on 19 October and opening on 21 October.

Its ₹3,540 tender fee and ₹34,000 earnest-money deposit are also separate from the contract value, which is not stated. The summary does not allow exemption from either the tender fee or the deposit. The published scope concerns operating the water-supply system. It gives no revised household supply timetable, interruption notice or new connection application window.

Earlier Dalimss News coverage examined Konia-linked pumping restoration after sewer overflow and separate water and sewer pipeline work in four wards.
