Varanasi to Install Digital Locker Facilities Near Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Ghats for Devotees’ Convenience

In a major step toward improving the experience of devotees, Varanasi is set to introduce digital luggage locker facilities around the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and nearby ghats. The initiative aims to provide safe and convenient storage options for visitors, allowing them to focus on their spiritual activities without worrying about their belongings.
The lockers will enable pilgrims to securely store items such as mobile phones, bags, and even larger luggage while they visit the temple or take a holy dip in the Ganges River. Equipped with digital payment options and modern security features, the system is designed to offer ease of use and reliability.
According to officials, around 225 lockers of varying sizes will be installed at key locations, including Dashashwamedh Ghat, Godowlia, Town Hall Varanasi, and Beniya Bagh parking areas. These lockers will cater to different storage needs, from small personal items to larger suitcases.
The move reflects a broader effort by the administration to enhance infrastructure while preserving the city’s spiritual essence. By integrating technology with tradition, the initiative is expected to make visits to Varanasi more organized, secure, and comfortable for both pilgrims and tourists.
Officials believe that this facility will significantly reduce congestion and improve overall crowd management in high-footfall areas, especially during peak pilgrimage seasons.
