Varanasi: Municipal Employees to Receive Salaries Before Holi, Announces Mayor

In a significant relief ahead of the festive season, the Varanasi Municipal Corporation has decided to release salaries of its employees before Holi. The announcement was made during the executive budget meeting chaired by Mayor Ashok Kumar Tiwari.
Chairing the meeting, the Mayor directed officials to ensure that all officers and employees of the Municipal Corporation, along with staff of the JalKal Department, receive their salaries prior to the festival. He stressed that no employee should face financial difficulties during Holi and instructed the finance department to clear all pending salary files on priority.
The decision has brought relief and happiness to thousands of permanent and contractual employees working under both departments. Many staff members welcomed the move, saying it would help them celebrate the festival with their families without financial stress.
The initiative is being viewed as a positive and employee-friendly step by the civic administration, reinforcing support for frontline and essential service workers ahead of the festive celebrations in Varanasi.
