Varanasi Mayor Sets 9-Month Deadline for Jal Nigam to Fix Water Supply Issues.

VARANASI: In a bid to resolve the city's water supply issues, Varanasi Mayor Ashok Kumar Tiwari has issued a strict ultimatum to the Jal Nigam (Water Corporation), directing them to complete all pending infrastructure works within the next nine months.
Focus on Ramnagar: During a review meeting held at the Smart City Auditorium, special emphasis was laid on the water supply issues in the Ramnagar area. The Mayor directed officials to immediately initiate the tender process for the Ramnagar Drinking Water Scheme.
Target Date: The Mayor has set a definitive deadline of December 2026 for the completion of the Ramnagar project, ensuring households in the area receive a steady water supply by then.
Zero Tolerance for Delays: Mayor Tiwari expressed dissatisfaction with the current pace of work and warned that no further delays would be tolerated. He instructed the Jal Nigam to increase manpower if necessary but to ensure that the timelines are met without compromising on quality.
