Varanasi Codeine Syrup Case: Close Aide of Main Accused Shubham Jaiswal Arrested Near Nepal Border

In a major development linked to the Varanasi codeine cough syrup case, police have arrested Vikas Singh Narve, a close associate of main accused Shubham Jaiswal. Vikas was apprehended near the Nepal border in Siddharthnagar while allegedly trying to flee the country.
A special team of the Varanasi Police carried out the operation. Officials said a lookout notice and red corner notice had already been issued against him. After the arrest, police began the process of bringing Vikas Singh Narve to Varanasi for further interrogation.
According to investigators, Vikas had played a key role in introducing Shubham Jaiswal to Amit Singh Tata and also facilitated meetings with a dismissed constable. Police believe his arrest could lead to more disclosures in the ongoing smuggling investigation.
