VARANASI: Classes 6 to 12 in schools across boards will move online on Saturday, October 24, because of traffic restrictions associated with the air show. District inspector of schools Bholendra Pratap Singh announced the change on Friday.

The direction concerns the mode of teaching for the day. Schools are to conduct the covered classes online, so families should look for their institution’s timetable and joining instructions rather than treat the announcement as a cancellation of all lessons.

Several private schools had begun sending parents messages about the arrangements. Those school messages will provide the practical details that a district-level announcement cannot supply, including the platform, lesson sequence and any revised attendance procedure.

The published direction specifically identifies Classes 6–12. The position for basic classes remained unclear late on Friday in the information available for this report. Families with younger children should obtain their school’s current instruction rather than extend the secondary-school order to another age group by assumption.

Plan the morning around the school message

A move online changes both the journey and the classroom. Students who would ordinarily depend on a school bus or a shared vehicle need to check the school’s transport message, while those attending remotely need the correct class link and their materials ready.

The official reason given for the switch is the traffic restriction. It is therefore distinct from an announcement about weather, a longer closure or a change to the academic calendar for the rest of the week.

The notice does not identify a single district-wide teaching platform or a common start time. Those details should not be supplied from another school’s circular, because institutions may organise the same day differently.

Check separate activities individually

Parents with an examination, practical session, office appointment or another scheduled campus activity should ask the institution how that particular activity will be handled. The available announcement does not spell out an arrangement for each of those cases.

For students facing a device or connection difficulty, informing the class teacher early gives the school a chance to explain its available alternative. This report does not claim that a recording, replacement class or attendance exemption has been promised across all schools.

The change also makes the date on a forwarded circular important. Friday’s election-related arrangements and Saturday’s online-class direction address different days. An old closure message may not describe what a student is expected to do on October 24.

The immediate instruction is clear for the covered classes: teaching shifts online for Saturday. Families should use their own school’s confirmed communication for the timetable and any activity-specific arrangements, with a separate check for children outside Classes 6–12.
