Uttar Pradesh's teacher training admissions have reached their last round. Candidates who applied for D.El.Ed (BTC) 2026 and had no institute after the first two phases were due to see their phase 3 allotment on Thursday, 8 October. Those who get a seat must finish document checks and admission by 5 pm on Wednesday, 14 October.

The timetable comes from the Pariksha Niyamak Pradhikari (PNP), Uttar Pradesh, in a notice signed in Prayagraj on 4 October 2026 by secretary Rajendra Pratap. The PNP calls it a last opportunity.

Admissions under phases 1 and 2 were completed by 25 September. The notice says the third phase was opened after representations from some candidates and private institutes.

Who is in this round

The round is open to every applicant from state rank 1 to 1,52,202 who has not been allotted a training institute so far. The rank is the state merit rank PNP published in August, which candidates can check by logging in on the portal.

To take part, candidates had to pay Rs 5,000 online and fill their choice of institutes on updeled.gov.in. That window ran from the afternoon of 5 October to 6 pm on 7 October and has now closed. Only those who paid and filled choices in time are in the phase 3 allotment.

The notice also records a change to the seat pool. Reserved category seats (OBC, SC, ST and special reserved categories) that stayed vacant after every candidate had a chance at admission, because no candidate from that category was available, have been converted into unreserved seats.

The dates from here

8 October 2026: institute allotment published.

9 October to 5 pm on 14 October 2026: document verification and admission at the allotted institute. The window includes the weekend of 10 and 11 October, but candidates should confirm the institute's working hours before travelling.

15 October 2026: last date for institutes to report and lock admitted candidates online on updeled.gov.in.

That last step matters to candidates as much as to colleges. The notice says an admission that the institute does not report and lock online by the deadline will not be valid. A student who has paid fees at a college should check, before 15 October, that the institute has completed the online lock.

What to carry and what to check

The PNP says the guidelines, rules and conditions from its earlier advertisement still apply, and asks candidates to read the government orders and instructions on the website before going for verification. Carry the original documents listed there along with photocopies, and keep the allotment letter printed, along with the receipt for the Rs 5,000 paid at the choice-filling stage.

The notice has been copied to the principals of all District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs), the principal of the College of Teacher Education in Varanasi and every private D.El.Ed institute in the state. Candidates allotted in Varanasi, Prayagraj or elsewhere should report to the office named in their letter, and ask for a receipt for anything they submit.

If you missed the window

The notice treats phase 3 as the final chance for the 2026 intake. It does not mention any further round, so a candidate who did not pay the Rs 5,000 or fill choices by 6 pm on 7 October should not wait for another opening on the strength of rumours. Any change will appear only on the official portal.

D.El.Ed, still widely called BTC in Uttar Pradesh, is the two-year diploma that prepares teachers for primary classes. For many applicants from smaller towns it is the most direct route to a teaching career, which is why seats in government DIETs go first and private institutes fill the rest.

All notices and the allotment are on the UP D.El.Ed portal.
