The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UP Board) has introduced major changes in its examination system to make board exams more transparent, secure, and well-organized. For the first time, answer sheets used in the upcoming High School and Intermediate examinations will be in a vertical format.

According to board officials, the new answer books will have a redesigned layout. Earlier, answer sheets were printed in landscape format, but now they will be vertical. Each answer book will include two cover pages. The first cover page will carry the UP Board logo, while the last page will feature a special security code to strengthen the evaluation process.

To further enhance security, the first and second answer books will be printed in different colors, helping examiners during evaluation. Every copy will also carry a barcode and a unique code, ensuring confidentiality of student identity while preventing tampering and misuse. The board believes this step will effectively curb irregularities and fraud during assessment.

The UP Board Secretary stated that the objective of these changes is to improve the examination system and ensure fair and unbiased evaluation for students. Special attention has also been given to stitching, page numbering, and print quality of the answer sheets to eliminate the possibility of page replacement or manipulation.

In addition, the board has released subject-wise PDFs for Class 10 in Science, Mathematics, and English. These PDFs provide details on question paper patterns, mark distribution, and important chapters, helping students prepare better for the exams. Board officials said this initiative is aimed at improving student convenience and overall result quality.
