Two Held After Rs 54,000 Robbery Near Rampura

GURUGRAM: Crime Branch Manesar and Kherki Daula police on Monday arrested Satish, 30, of Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh, and Ravi Kishan alias Sumit, 19, of Begusarai in Bihar, from Bhangrola in a case alleging that a private-company worker from Sector 26 was forced into a white car near Rampura Chowk, assaulted and robbed of cash, a mobile phone and a gold chain.

Police say the victim was returning to a rented home toward Nakhrola after a shift that ended around 5 am on 26 September when he was intercepted near Rampura Chowk. He was allegedly taken to Nawada, assaulted with a wooden stick, and robbed of his phone, about Rs 7,000 in cash and a gold chain. The accused, police allege, then obtained his phone password and withdrew about Rs 47,000 before abandoning him in Nawada.

The victim underwent a medical examination. An FIR was registered at Kherki Daula police station on Monday. Officers recovered the car, the stick and the victim's phone. The two accused were produced in court on Tuesday and given one-day police remand. Police say they are still tracing the withdrawn money and other stolen property.

Job loss alleged as motive; remand and recovery

According to the police version, Ravi Kishan had lost a job in Gurugram and planned the robbery with Satish, who drives an autorickshaw. They allegedly hired a car for Rs 2,000 for the operation. Those claims come from the arrest briefing and remain allegations until tested in court. Neither man has been convicted on this FIR.

The combined cash and withdrawal figure police cite is about Rs 54,000, matching the headline recovery target, plus the phone and chain. Whether the full amount and ornaments return to the victim depends on the ongoing tracing work during and after remand. Crime Branch officers said bank and wallet trails are part of that chase.

Early-morning shift workers on the Nakhrola-Rampura belt often travel when fewer PCR vans are visible. This FIR turns on whether the Nawada assault and ATM withdrawals can be tied cleanly to the two men now in custody. Defence counsel will have their say when the remand period ends and further custody or bail arguments begin. For now, police describe Satish and Ravi Kishan as arrested accused in the Rampura Chowk robbery case, with the car, stick and phone already in the recovery list and the cash trail still open. Further recoveries, if any, will be recorded in supplementary case papers rather than in Monday's first arrest note.
