Tamil Nadu opens Round-1 counselling for Nursing, B.Pharm and Allied UG government seats

The government-college window for B.Sc. Nursing, B.Pharm, BASLP and Allied & Healthcare undergraduate seats is already running. The Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical Education and Research, Kilpauk, Chennai-10, has posted a tentative Round-1 online counselling schedule for those courses — government seats in government colleges only, 2026–2027 session — with registration, payment, choice filling and locking from 12:01 p.m. on 29 August 2026 to 5:00 p.m. on 1 September 2026.

This is not yesterday’s Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing application, not the Post Basic Diploma Nursing prospectus, not B.Pharm Lateral Entry, and not the M.Pharm provisional rank list. Those are different files. This schedule is undergraduate counselling for government seats in government colleges. The same homepage also carries a tentative vacancy PDF titled as on 29-08-2026. Pair that vacancy sheet with this schedule; it is not a second story.

What the three-page schedule prints

The header covers all Special Category and General Category candidates, “ONLY FOR GOVERNMENT SEATS IN GOVERNMENT COLLEGES,” 2026–2027 session. Round 1 is one table. Registration / Payment / Choice Filling & Locking runs 29-08-2026 at 12:01 P.M. to 01-09-2026 at 05:00 P.M. Result is 03-09-2026. Download of the provisional allotment order is 04-09-2026. Reporting is FROM 04-09-2026 TO 08-09-2026 05.00 P.M.

The rank and marks band printed on that table is GR 001 to GR 20733 and 200.00 to 160.00. A note under the table is not optional for special-category candidates: “All candidates of special category in the Eligible List available irrespective of their ranks in the official website have to participate in this counselling.” Differently abled candidates “are instructed to choice lock the courses opted by them irrespective of their ranks.”

Anyone who takes part remits a non-refundable processing fee of Rs.250 through debit card, credit card or net banking. The Committee “does not take responsibility of Connectivity error.” Admission is by online counselling on rank, applying the rule of reservation. The seat matrix “will be available on the official websites.” Procedures for the counselling “will be published in the official website.” Don’t share login ID, password or OTP.

Once a candidate locks a choice, “it cannot be changed later.” Request for change of branch or college after an option has been exercised is not permitted. Allotted candidates download the provisional allotment order and join the concerned medical college or institution on or before the stipulated date and time. At joining they produce original certificates in person, with a scanned set. They also give a self-declaration that suppression of facts or mis-interpretation found during or after admission makes them liable for forfeiture of selection. If they do not report to the Head of the Institution by the printed date and time, “your selection and / or admission will be cancelled without any further notice.” In case of doubt, the English version is final.

Page 1 prints B.Pharm TOTAL 120 — Madras Medical College, Chennai 60 and Madurai Medical College, Madurai 60. B.Sc. Nursing (Male) TOTAL 51 across Chengalpattu, the Government College of Nursing at Annamalai nagar, Chidambaram, Madras Medical College, Madurai Medical College, Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College, Salem, and Theni Government Medical College. B.Sc. Nursing (Female) TOTAL 459 on the same first page.

Later government-college sheets print, among others, B.P.T TOTAL 80, B.A.S.L.P TOTAL 25 at Madras Medical College, B.MRIT TOTAL 390, B.RTT TOTAL 55, B.O.T TOTAL 40 and B. Optom TOTAL 145. The vacancy title names BPO; a clean COURSE: BPO total cell was not isolated on the sheet, so no BPO headcount is published here. Later pages headed “ESI COLLEGE” list ESI-PGIMSR, ESI Hospital, K.K.
