TN MDS Round 1 counselling 29 Aug

The MDS window is this morning, not a later-week reminder. The Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical Education & Research, Chennai-10, has posted a tentative Round 1 counselling schedule for MDS degree courses in Tamil Nadu Government Dental Colleges and in Government and Management (including Minority and NRI) quota seats in self-financing dental colleges, 2026-2027 session. Registration, payment, choice filling and locking run from 10:00 am on 29 August 2026 to 5:00 pm on 3 September 2026. If you do not lock by that hour, the file says your choices will be automatically locked.

This is MDS. It is not the 27 August MBBS/BDS Government Quota and Management Quota allotment lists. The same homepage this morning also carries a tentative vacancy PDF titled as on 28-08-2026, and a live apply link at https://regpg.tnmedicalonline.co.in/MDS26/. Read the prospectus before you start choice filling. The schedule is three pages. Its Word title on the PDF is “MDS ROUND 1 - 2026-2027 COUNSELING SCHEDULE.”

Rank bands as printed, fees, auto-lock

The table prints two General Rank bands with NEET marks. It does not say which band is Government Quota and which is Management Quota. This desk is quoting the cells as they sit on the page: GR 001 to GR 1118, NEET marks 772 to 272; and GR 001 to GR 660, NEET marks 665 to 272. A footnote: GR – GENERAL RANK.

Candidates who take part in online choice filling “will have to remit a non-refundable Registration Fee of Rs.1000/- for Government Quota and for Management Quota.” At registration, refundable security for Government Quota is Rs.30,000 for Government Dental Colleges and Rs.1,00,000 for Government Quota seats in self-financing dental colleges. For Management Quota including Minority/NRI seats in self-financing dental colleges, refundable security is Rs.2,00,000.

You get choices for every seat you applied to. If you applied for both Government and Management quota, you get both lists. Edit any number of times before locking. Once locked, no edit. Request for change of course or college after final locking is not permitted. If you do not lock till 03-09-2026 5 PM, choices auto-lock. Seat matrix “will be available on the official websites.” Allotment is by online counselling on rank, applying the rule of reservation / 200 points Roster method. Selection Committee “does not take responsibility of Connectivity error and Procedural error.”

Processing of seat allotment: 04-09-2026. Result: 05-09-2026. Download the provisional allotment order from 06-09-2026 to 11-09-2026 03:00 P.M. Last date of joining: till 11-09-2026 05:00 P.M. Selected candidates pay tuition online by debit card, credit card or net banking to download the order. Fee structure is on www.tnmedicalselection.net. Join the allotted dental college by the date and time on the order, with original certificates in person and a scanned set. If you do not report to the Head of the Institution by that time, “your selection and / or admission will be cancelled without any further notice.”

Vacancy PDF as on 28-08-2026 — no statewide total

Government pages name Tamil Nadu Government Dental College & Hospital, Chennai, and Govt. Dental College and Hospital, Cuddalore, by speciality, with Open and Service columns. Self-financing pages add Government Quota, Management Quota, Minority and NRI columns. Named colleges there include Ragas, Chennai; Chettinad, Kancheepuram; Adhiparasakthi, Melmaruvathur; Tagore, Chennai; CSI, Madurai; Vivekanandha, Elayampalayam; and others. The last self-financing sheet is paginated “Page 9 of 9.”
