Tamil Nadu posts Round 1 MBBS/BDS GQ and MQ provisional allotment lists dated 27 August

The Tamil Nadu Selection Committee has named Round 1 MBBS and BDS candidates. Two homepage lines dated 27.08.2026 now read “GQ – Provisional list of candidates allotted for MBBS/BDS (Government Quota) … on 27.08.2026” and “MQ – Provisional list of candidates allotted for MBBS/BDS (Management Quota) … on 27.08.2026.” Both PDFs, opened from tnmedicalselection.net on 28 August 2026 morning IST, print the same allotment date in the header. This is medical and dental counselling under the Directorate of Medical Education and Research. It is not TNEA.

A third 27 August file on the same shelf is “Tentative Round-1 vacancy for MBBS/BDS degree course 2026-2027 – after special category allotment.” The vacancy PDF’s own first page is still titled as on 24-08-2026 for government-college MBBS. Treat the homepage title as the upload, and the inner date as the table’s as-on stamp. This desk is not publishing seat totals from either file.

What the two 27 August lists are

The government-quota PDF is headed “MBBS/BDS (Government Quota) Course Session :2026 – 2027, Provisional List of Candidates allotted on – 27.08.2026.” Columns run serial number, general rank, application number, name, community, marks and allotted college. The management-quota PDF is headed the same way for Management Quota. Its first rows include Christian Medical College, Vellore, under MQ_MBBS (SF Colleges), with CMC General and Minority Network tags. The lists are provisional. They are not an admission letter.

Special-category allotments (sports, ex-servicemen, PwD, 7.5% government-school) were already on the homepage from 14 August. The 27 August GQ and MQ files are the general Round 1 online-counselling lists after that special-category pass.

The allotment-order download is live on the homepage: “Click here to download allotment order for online counselling of MBBS / BDS course for Government & Management Quota (incl. NRI & Minority) 2026-2027 session,” pointing at counug.tnmedicalonline.co.in/ugmedgq/. A name on the PDF is not a substitute for that order.

Reporting, from the 20 August notice — not from the old 12 August PDF

Notification No. 20/SCS1(1)/2026, Selection Committee, Kilpauk, Chennai-10, dated 20.08.2026, is the operative Round 1 clock this desk is using. It says the schedule was modified “as per the revised UG State Schedule 2026 dated 19.08.2026 released by MCC of DGHS.” Registration, choice filling and locking ran till 5 pm of 24 August 2026. Processing was 25 and 26 August. Results: 27 August 2026.

Candidates can download the allotment order from 27 August till 5 September 2026, 12:00 noon. “The last reporting date of Counselling for Tamil Nadu Round 1 is till 05th September 2026, 5.00pm.” The older Round-I schedule PDF dated 12 August still sitting in the library printed result on 21 August and joining through 28 August 5:00 pm. That PDF is superseded. Do not travel on it.

The 12 August schedule’s fee lines are still the published Round 1 rates unless a later notice replaces them: non-refundable registration Rs.500 government quota, Rs.1,000 management quota; refundable security nil at government medical and dental colleges, Rs.30,000 for government-quota seats in self-financing colleges and state private universities, Rs.1,00,000 for management quota including minority/NRI; SC/SCA/ST and SCC converts exempt from security if annual income is less than Rs.2.50 lakh.
