Varanasi: Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati, who is facing charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, has publicly responded to the allegations, stating that he is prepared to face the police investigation.

Earlier, speaking to Dalimss News, the Swami’s lawyers had questioned the complaint, claiming that the alleged victim was never his disciple. They also argued that the complaint does not mention the specific date or time of the alleged incident, raising doubts about its credibility. The defence maintained that in the absence of clear details, there are no sufficient grounds for arrest.

Before the police inquiry proceeds further, Swami Avimukteshwaranand addressed mediapersons and said, “Let the police come. I am ready to face them. The truth will come out.” He added that there is no question of arrest at this stage, but if an arrest does take place, he is prepared for that as well.

He stated that arrest in such cases can sometimes be carried out to preserve evidence related to the alleged incident. However, he pointed out that a significant amount of time had already passed since the complaint was filed and emphasized that he is not absconding. “We are not running anywhere. Therefore, there is no question of arrest,” he said.

The Swami further asserted that even if he is arrested, he will cooperate fully with the authorities and will not oppose the police in any manner. In a sharp remark, the Shankaracharya referred to “Kaalnemi,” indirectly targeting the Uttar Pradesh government, and alleged that attempts were being made to portray him as guilty before society.

Police officials have not yet issued a detailed statement regarding the next course of action. The matter remains under investigation.
