Student Shot Inside Udai Pratap College Campus in Varanasi, Chaos Erupts After Firing Incident

Panic gripped Udai Pratap College in Varanasi after a student was shot inside the campus on Thursday. The injured student, identified as Surya Singh, was critically wounded and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Officials have not confirmed any fatality so far.

According to initial reports, the incident took place inside the hostel premises, where another student allegedly opened fire. The accused fled the spot after throwing away the pistol, which was later recovered from the scene.

The shooting reportedly occurred near the Arts and Social Sciences faculty corridor, triggering chaos across the campus. Soon after the incident, students gathered at the college gate and began protesting. The situation escalated as some groups allegedly vandalized the principal’s office.

Senior police officials, including Alok Priyadarshi, Shivhari Meena, and Pramod Kumar, along with other officers, reached the spot with a heavy police force to bring the situation under control.
