Sting Operation Claims Liquor Shops in Varanasi Selling Alcohol After Legal Closing Hours

A sting operation conducted in Varanasi has raised serious questions about alleged after-hours liquor sales in multiple areas of the city. According to the investigation, liquor outlets in the Adampur police station area near Golgadda, as well as shops near the Maidagin petrol pump and Nakhas under Kotwali police station limits, were reportedly found selling alcohol after the legal closing time of 10 PM.
The operation claims that customers were able to obtain liquor by knocking on closed shutters late at night, suggesting possible violations of excise regulations. Authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the findings.
