SC Hostel Admission Interviews Scheduled in Varanasi on September 5

VARANASI: Admission interviews for the Narendra Kumar Shastri Scheduled Caste Hostel in the Cantt area will be held on September 5, with applicants asked to report at 11 am carrying their original documents.

Hostel administrator Dr Rajesh Kumar Chaudhary said students connected with the admission process should appear with the certificates supporting their applications. Those who submitted incomplete forms have been advised to contact the office, rather than arrive on interview day without resolving the missing information.

For students moving to Varanasi for college or university, a hostel seat can determine whether admission is financially workable. Rent, security deposits and daily transport create a significant burden, especially for families sending a first-generation student away from home. A publicly administered hostel offers more than a bed: proximity to institutions, a peer community and a predictable living cost can improve a student's chance of staying in the course.

Applicants should prepare a simple document file before the interview. It should include their application acknowledgement, recent photographs, identity and address proof, caste certificate, academic marksheets, current admission proof and income or domicile records if the hostel rules require them. Certificates must be readable and current.
