Mahant Vishambhar Nath Mishra of the historic Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple has spoken warmly about his long-standing association with renowned poet and lyricist Javed Akhtar, emphasizing mutual respect, cultural dialogue, and shared values. Speaking to Dalimss News, Mahant Mishra recalled that the relationship is rooted in years of interaction through music, literature, and cultural platforms connected to the Sankat Mochan tradition.

Mahant Mishra highlighted that Javed Akhtar has always shown deep regard for Indian culture, classical music, and the inclusive spirit that Sankat Mochan Temple represents. He said that the Sankat Mochan Samman, which was conferred upon Javed Akhtar, was purely a recognition of his contribution to literature, poetry, and cultural discourse, and not a political or ideological statement. According to him, the temple’s tradition has always been to honour artists and thinkers who enrich society through their work.

Clarifying his personal equation with Javed Akhtar, Mahant Mishra stated that their relationship has always remained cordial and respectful. He stressed that dialogue, mutual understanding, and cultural exchange are essential for a diverse society like India. He further added that Sankat Mochan Temple has historically remained a platform for cultural harmony, where music, art, and thought transcend differences and bring people together.

Mahant Mishra concluded by saying that the spirit of Sankat Mochan has always been about unity through culture, and that honouring individuals for their artistic contribution should be seen in that broader cultural context.
