RTI Exposes 17-Year Double Government Job Scam in UP, Court Awards 7-Year Sentence”

In a shocking case from Uttar Pradesh, a man was found to be working in two government jobs simultaneously for nearly 17 years, drawing salaries from both districts.
The accused, identified as Jaiprakash Singh, was employed in Barabanki and Pratapgarh at the same time using the same educational documents.
The fraud came to light after an RTI-based inquiry, which led to an investigation and the filing of an FIR against him. After hearing the case, a court found him guilty of fraud and misconduct.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Sudha Singh sentenced the accused to seven years of rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of ₹30,000, bringing an end to the long-running “double job” scam.
