Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Offers Prayers at Kashi Vishwanath Dham on Birthday

Varanasi, July 19, 2026: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta offered prayers at Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham on Sunday during a visit to Varanasi that coincided with her birthday.
Gupta paid obeisance at the temple and prayed for peace, prosperity and public wellbeing. In a public message after the visit, she described Kashi as a symbol of India’s spiritual, cultural and civilisational heritage.
She also thanked Bharatiya Janata Party workers and supporters for welcoming her in the city. Images and video from the visit showed the chief minister participating in the temple rituals.
The visit was devotional in nature. No new policy announcement or administrative direction concerning Varanasi was reported in connection with the temple visit.
