Prayagraj mein banenge do naye 4-lane bridges — UP budget se Shastri aur Yamuna bridge project ko milegi raftaar

Prayagraj: Infrastructure development has received a major push in the latest Uttar Pradesh budget, with key allocations expected to accelerate the construction of two new four-lane bridges in Prayagraj.
According to officials, a new bridge approximately 2,500 meters long will be constructed parallel to the existing Shastri Bridge over the Ganga River at an estimated cost exceeding ₹1,500 crore. The project is aimed at easing pressure on the current bridge, which handles heavy daily traffic.
In addition, another four-lane bridge will be built alongside the old Old Yamuna Bridge, connecting Madauka to Karailabagh in the Naini area. More than ₹800 crore is expected to be spent on this second project, with funds likely to be released soon.
Authorities say the new bridges will play a crucial role in reducing congestion, strengthening regional connectivity, and improving travel routes linking Prayagraj with nearby regions including Varanasi and Madhya Pradesh. Once completed, the infrastructure upgrade is expected to significantly enhance transport efficiency and support economic activity across the corridor.
