GURUGRAM: Clay has become a popular way to spend a weekend afternoon in Gurugram, whether as a date, a birthday plan or a break from screens for children. Two studios in the city publish enough detail on their own websites to plan a first visit: Mustard Studio in Sector 31 and Potters' Hub in Sector 59. This guide sets out what each says, as read on 6 October 2026.
Mustard Studio gives its address as 452, Sector 31, Gurgaon, and its hours as 11 am to 7:30 pm on the home page, with 11 am to 7 pm on its kids and contact pages. Its phone number is +91 9266700215 and its email hello@mustardstudio.in. The studio's site lists more than a dozen workshops, from wheel pottery and terracotta modelling to resin jewellery, canvas painting and an LED moon lamp.
The wheel pottery session is the one most beginners ask about. The studio's page lists it as a 75-minute session for ages 12 and above, with all materials included. It says participants learn wheel throwing basics and make two pieces, such as simple bowls or free-form shapes, using white stoneware clay, with tools and an apron provided.
There is a catch first-timers should know. The pieces go home unfired once they have dried, with packaging provided, and the maximum size is eight inches per piece. Glazing and firing are offered at an additional charge, which the page does not price. Unfired clay is fragile, so treat the first trip home with care.
Terracotta clay modelling is the gentler option for younger hands. The page lists it as a 90-minute session for ages six and above, teaching pinching, coiling and slab building to make bowls, small sculptures or decorative pieces. As with wheel pottery, the work goes home unfired, and the studio notes that raw clay is delicate.
Rates, dates and the refund rule
At the time of reading, the wheel pottery, terracotta and clay-art-on-mug workshop pages each listed a price of Rs 800, and the kintsugi workshop, a 60-minute session where you repair a ceramic bowl with golden joins and take it home the same day, was also listed at Rs 800. These prices are as of 6 October 2026, about 9:10 am IST, and can change at checkout.
The painting and craft sessions run longer. Paint Starry Night on Canvas is listed as a two-hour session for ages 10 and above on a 12 by 10 inch canvas with acrylic colours, also at Rs 800, and the finished canvas goes home the same day. The resin jewellery workshop, for ages 12 and above, runs 90 minutes and includes a hand-painted pouch, listed at Rs 800. The 3D moon lamp workshop, two hours with a 12-inch lamp base and LED setup, was listed at Rs 1,100.
One thing we noticed: the date pickers on these workshop pages showed dates only up to early October when we checked, with slots such as 11:30 am, 1 pm, 3 pm, 4:30 pm and 6:15 pm for wheel pottery. The calendar may simply not have been refreshed, so message the studio on WhatsApp to confirm a slot before you go rather than relying on the page.
Mustard Studio also runs a kids' programme for children aged six and above, with 90-minute sessions on any day from Tuesday to Sunday. The page lists clay fridge magnets, coasters, painting, wheel pottery, clay sculptures, tote bag painting and mini canvases among the options, and children can mix activities across sessions. Packages are listed at Rs 2,800 for four sessions, Rs 5,000 for eight and Rs 8,500 for sixteen.
Cancellation terms are set out on a separate refund page and repeated on each workshop. Cancel 48 hours or more before the session for a full refund, 24 hours before for a 50 percent refund, and on the same day for no refund. Rescheduling is allowed only in exceptional cases, to an available weekday session, with prior approval. For groups, the studio's events page offers team and birthday workshops at the studio or at an office or other venue, with group sizes from 10 to more than 50 on its enquiry form.
Potters' Hub is a different kind of place. Its website describes it as a studio founded by Ranu Kawatra and lists three sections: a community pottery space with wheels, kilns and tools, a workshop space for classes from basic ceramics to advanced sessions, and a studio store selling handmade pottery. The site describes the studio as air-conditioned.
The address on the Potters' Hub site is Ascott Ireo City Central, Sector 59, Gurugram 122102, with the contact number +91 9810231311. Class schedules and fees are not published on its pages, so call before planning a visit. Because it has kilns on site, ask about firing if you want finished pieces rather than unfired ones.
If you are pairing a class with something else on the same day, our Museo Camera first-visit guide covers a gallery in DLF Phase IV, a short drive from Sector 31, and the Third Wave Coffee area guide lists cafes across the city with their hours.
Dalimss News has not attended a session at either studio. The details above are only what each studio publishes on its own website, and readers should confirm timings, prices and age limits directly before booking.
