Police Raze Narco Accused House, Seal Another

GURUGRAM: Crime Branch teams on Monday demolished a roughly 50-square-yard house in Ashok Vihar Phase-3 near the Air Force Station that police say was illegally occupied and built by Azad, also known as Kalu, who is booked in multiple narcotics and other cases, and Anti-Narcotics Cell officers sealed another house in Gurugram village linked to Biru Kumar.

Police said Azad faces six cases registered at Sector-5 and Udyog Vihar police stations. The alleged offences include violations under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, Excise Act, the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and other serious charges. The house taken down on Monday stood on land police describe as illegally occupied and constructed. Guilt on those FIRs remains a matter for the courts.

Separately, the Anti-Narcotics Cell sealed a house of about 12 biswa near Chhoti Mata Temple in Gurugram village. Biru Kumar is booked in four cases at Sector-14, City and Sector-9A police stations. Police list alleged NDPS offences along with murder, kidnapping, assault and related charges among those cases. None of the allegations has been proved in court in this action note.

Ten cases, coordinated drive, more action promised

Taken together, the two men are linked to 10 registered cases. Officers cast Monday's demolition and sealing as part of a continuing drive against people police call habitual offenders and against illegal occupation of plots. A police spokesperson said the teams coordinated with other departments, that law and order was maintained during the operations, and that similar drives will continue in colonies where illegal construction and repeat bookings overlap.

Ashok Vihar Phase-3 sits close to a sensitive defence perimeter, which police cited when describing why illegal construction there drew priority. The Gurugram village sealing near Chhoti Mata Temple followed the same day's Anti-Narcotics Cell brief on Biru's pending cases. Neighbours were kept at a distance while the excavator and sealing party worked, the spokesperson said.

Families or claimants linked to either property were not quoted in the police note. The action targets structures and occupation status as alleged by police, not a fresh conviction. Further court process on the underlying FIRs will decide guilt. For now, one house is gone and another is under seal, and police say more such operations are planned where illegal occupation and repeat NDPS or violent-crime bookings overlap.

Residents in both pockets will see boarded or cleared plots rather than a sudden end to the cases. Crime Branch and Anti-Narcotics Cell officers said paperwork with revenue and municipal wings was cleared before the machines and seals went in, a claim that will matter if demolition or sealing is later challenged in civil or criminal court. Until then, Monday's action stands as an enforcement step tied to pending allegations, not a final finding of guilt against either accused.
