The late fee is Rs.500 over the applicable category fee. Corrections to details filled in the application form are allowed on the website only from 09.10.2026 to 11.10.2026. Fees are exclusive of bank or gateway charges; NTA does not refund a successfully remitted exam fee except for duplicate payments on the same application after reconciliation.
The Stage-I written exam is a pen-and-paper test lasting 4 hours 30 minutes. The public notice lists descriptive papers in Mathematics and English, with MCQs for General Knowledge, across 39 examination cities. City intimation slips are indicated 12 to 15 days before the exam date; admit cards download from the NTA site 5 to 7 days before the exam. Stage-I results are to be declared by 20 February 2027. Stage-II viva voce is tentatively in April 2027, about 4 to 6 weeks after Stage-I results, with the exact date to be announced later on the NTA and RIMC sites.
For the July (Autumn) term, candidates should not be less than twelve years and six months and not more than fourteen years old as on 1 July of the year of admission. RIMCEE-2026 feeds Class VIII for the July 2027 term. Admissions are bi-annual under a state-wise or zone-wise merit system, with a tentative term-wise intake of 25 boy cadet and 10 girl cadet vacancies. Selection is on merit through the all-India written exam, interview of select candidates, and medical examination of those who qualify and are in merit. NTA's role is limited to applications, Stage-I conduct, initial scrutiny for admit cards, Stage-I result and merit data for RIMC. Eligibility, vacancy, reservation, Stage-II viva, medical, final selection and document verification remain with RIMC.
